Tennessee is a state located in the southeastern United States. It is bordered by eight other states, including Kentucky, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Missouri. Tennessee is divided into 95 counties, each with its own unique history and culture.
The largest county in Tennessee is Shelby County, which is located in the western part of the state and is home to the city of Memphis. Shelby County is the most populous county in the state, with a population of over 930,000 people. It is also home to the University of Memphis, the Memphis Zoo, and the National Civil Rights Museum.
The second largest county in Tennessee is Davidson County, which is located in the central part of the state and is home to the city of Nashville. Davidson County is the second most populous county in the state, with a population of over 690,000 people. It is home to the Grand Ole Opry, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and the Tennessee State Capitol.
Knox County is the third largest county in Tennessee, located in the eastern part of the state and home to the city of Knoxville. Knox County has a population of over 460,000 people and is home to the University of Tennessee, the Knoxville Zoo, and the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame.
Hamilton County is the fourth largest county in Tennessee, located in the southeastern part of the state and home to the city of Chattanooga. Hamilton County has a population of over 360,000 people and is home to the Tennessee Aquarium, the Chattanooga Choo Choo, and Lookout Mountain.
Williamson County is the fifth largest county in Tennessee, located in the southern part of the state and home to the city of Franklin. Williamson County has a population of over 210,000 people and is home to the historic downtown Franklin, the Carter House, and the Lotz House.
These five counties make up the majority of the population of Tennessee, but there are many other counties in the state that are worth exploring. Each county has its own unique history and culture, and each offers something special to visitors.
