Log Cabin Summary

Log Cabin, Texas is a small unincorporated community located in the southeastern corner of Anderson County, Texas. It is situated on the banks of the Neches River, approximately 10 miles south of Palestine, the county seat. The community was established in the late 1800s and has a population of approximately 200 people.

History

Log Cabin, Texas was established in the late 1800s by a group of settlers who were looking for a place to call home. The settlers were mostly of German and Irish descent and were looking for a place to start a new life. The settlers chose the area because of its proximity to the Neches River, which provided them with a reliable source of water for their crops and livestock. The settlers built their homes out of logs, hence the name Log Cabin.
