Carroll County, Indiana is located in the northwestern part of the state, and is part of the Lafayette-West Lafayette Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is bordered by White County to the north, Cass County to the east, Tippecanoe County to the south, and Clinton County to the west. The county seat is Delphi, and the county was named for Charles Carroll of Carrollton, the last surviving signer of the Declaration of Independence.

It is bordered by White County to the north, Cass County to the east, Tippecanoe County to the south, and Clinton County to the west. The county has a total area of 437 square miles, of which 434 square miles is land and 3 square miles is water. The county is mostly flat, with some rolling hills in the northern part. The highest point in the county is located in the northwest corner, at an elevation of 890 feet. The county is drained by the Wabash River, which forms the western border of the county.

As of the 2010 census, there were 20,155 people, 7,845 households, and 5,541 families residing in the county. The population density was 46.5 people per square mile. The racial makeup of the county was 97.3% White, 0.5% African American, 0.3% Native American, 0.3% Asian, 0.2% from other races, and 1.4% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.2% of the population.

About 8.3% of families and 11.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 15.2% of those under age 18 and 8.2% of those age 65 or over.
