Geography
Waseca County is located in the south-central region of Minnesota, and is bordered by Steele County to the north, Freeborn County to the east, Blue Earth County to the south, and Martin County to the west. The county has a total area of 576 square miles, of which 573 square miles is land and 3.2 square miles is water. The county is mostly flat, with some rolling hills in the northern part of the county. The highest point in the county is located in the northwest corner, at an elevation of 1,092 feet.

The racial makeup of the county was 95.3% White, 0.7% Black or African American, 0.3% Native American, 0.4% Asian, 2.3% from other races, and 0.9% from two or more races. 4.3% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
