Introduction

Port Matilda Borough is a small borough located in Centre County, Pennsylvania. It is situated in the Nittany Valley, which is part of the Ridge and Valley physiographic province of the Appalachian Mountains. The borough is located approximately 8 miles east of State College, the county seat, and is part of the State College Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population of Port Matilda Borough was 1,093 at the 2010 census.
