The borough is situated in the Susquehanna Valley, approximately 10 miles northwest of Harrisburg, the state capital. It is bordered by East Hanover Township to the north, West Hanover Township to the east, and Halifax Township to the south and west.
The borough is served by Pennsylvania Route 225, which runs through the center of town. The closest major highway is Interstate 81, which is located approximately 10 miles to the east.
