East Prospect Borough is a small borough located in York County, Pennsylvania. It is situated in the southeastern corner of the county, just north of the Susquehanna River. The borough is bordered by Lower Windsor Township to the north, York Haven Borough to the east, and Wrightsville Borough to the south. The population of East Prospect Borough was 1,717 at the 2010 census.
History
East Prospect Borough was founded in 1876, when it was separated from Lower Windsor Township. The borough was named after the East Prospect Iron Works, which was established in 1845. The iron works was a major employer in the area, and the borough was created to provide services to the workers and their families.
The East Prospect Iron Works was a major producer of iron products, including railroad ties, bridge components, and other iron products. The iron works closed in the early 1900s, and the borough has since become a residential community.

East Prospect Borough is located at 40°3'25"N 76°37'25"W (40.056944, -76.62361). According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.8 km2), all of it land.
The borough is located in the southeastern corner of York County, just north of the Susquehanna River. It is bordered by Lower Windsor Township to the north, York Haven Borough to the east, and Wrightsville Borough to the south.

The economy of East Prospect Borough is largely based on agriculture and light industry. The borough is home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, and a few restaurants. The borough also has a few small manufacturing companies, including a plastics manufacturer and a metal fabrication shop.

As of the 2010 census, there were 1,717 people, 690 households, and 463 families residing in the borough. The population density was 2,521.3 people per square mile (973.2/km2). There were 745 housing units at an average density of 1,072.3 per square mile (414.7/km2). The racial makeup of the borough was 97.2% White, 0.9% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.2% from other races, and 1.3% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.2% of the population.
There were 690 households, out of which 28.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.5% were married couples living together, 10.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.6% were non-families. 28.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 14.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.48 and the average family size was 3.05.
In the borough, the population was spread out, with 24.2% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 28.2% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 16.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females, there were 92.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.2 males.
