Andover borough Summary

Andover Borough is a small borough located in Sussex County, New Jersey. It is situated in the Kittatinny Valley, which is part of the Great Appalachian Valley. The borough is bordered by Byram Township to the north, Green Township to the east, and Fredon Township to the south and west. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough had a total population of 1,303.

History

The area that is now Andover Borough was originally inhabited by the Lenape Native Americans. The first European settlers arrived in the area in the late 17th century. The area was part of the original Sussex County, which was established in 1753. The borough was officially incorporated in 1904.

Geography

Andover Borough is located at 40°54'N 74°54'W (40.9000, -74.9000). According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.1 km2), all of which is land.
The borough is located in the Kittatinny Valley, which is part of the Great Appalachian Valley. The borough is bordered by Byram Township to the north, Green Township to the east, and Fredon Township to the south and west.

Economy

Andover Borough is a small, rural community with a limited economy. The borough is home to several small businesses, including a few restaurants, a hardware store, and a few retail stores. The borough also has a few small manufacturing companies.
