History
Pepper Pike was founded in 1819 by John and Mary Pepper, who were among the first settlers in the area. The city was named after the Pepper family, who were among the first settlers in the area. The city was incorporated in 1931.

Pepper Pike is located at 41°27'45" North, 81°30'45" West (41.4625, -81.5125). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.2 square miles (10.8 km2), all land.

As of the census of 2000, there were 6,200 people, 2,541 households, and 1,845 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,467.2 people per square mile (567.2/km2). There were 2,637 housing units at an average density of 622.3 per square mile (240.3/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 92.2% White, 4.2% African American, 0.2% Native American, 2.2% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 0.4% from other races, and 0.9% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.3% of the population.
There were 2,541 households, out of which 28.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.2% were married couples living together, 6.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.7% were non-families. 24.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.41 and the average family size was 2.90.
In the city, the population was spread out, with 22.2% under the age of 18, 4.2% from 18 to 24, 24.2% from 25 to 44, 28.2% from 45 to 64, and 21.2% who were 65 years of age or older.
