Morrow Summary

Morrow is a village located in Warren County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,845 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area.

History

Morrow was founded in 1815 by William Morrow, a Revolutionary War veteran. The village was originally known as "Morrow's Station" and was located on the Little Miami Railroad. The village was incorporated in 1845.
Morrow was a major stop on the Underground Railroad, with many of the local residents helping to hide and transport escaped slaves. The village was also home to the first public school in Warren County, which was established in 1817.

Economy

Morrow is home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, a pharmacy, and a few restaurants. The village is also home to a branch of the Warren County Public Library.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1,845 people, 717 households, and 517 families residing in the village. The population density was 2,637.2 people per square mile (1,017.2/km2). There were 745 housing units at an average density of 1,053.2 per square mile (405.2/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 97.45% White, 0.76% African American, 0.05% Native American, 0.05% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 0.60% from other races, and 0.94% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.08% of the population.
There were 717 households, out of which 33.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.2% were married couples living together, 11.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.7% were non-families. 25.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.56 and the average family size was 3.06.
In the village, the population was spread out, with 26.2% under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 30.2% from 25 to 44, 22.2% from 45 to 64, and 13.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females, there were 93.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.2 males.
