McComb Summary

Mccomb is a small village located in Hancock County, Ohio. It is situated on the banks of the Blanchard River, approximately 20 miles south of Findlay. The village has a population of approximately 1,000 people and is part of the Findlay-Hancock County Metropolitan Statistical Area.

History

Mccomb was founded in 1837 by William Mccomb, a settler from Pennsylvania. The village was originally known as Mccomb's Station, and was a stop on the Underground Railroad. The village was officially incorporated in 1854.
In the late 19th century, Mccomb was a thriving agricultural community. The village was home to several mills, including a flour mill, a saw mill, and a grist mill. The village also had a blacksmith shop, a general store, and a post office.

Geography

Mccomb is located in the western part of Hancock County, Ohio. The village is situated on the banks of the Blanchard River, approximately 20 miles south of Findlay. The village is surrounded by farmland and is located near the intersection of State Route 12 and State Route 235.
The village has a total area of 0.6 square miles, all of which is land. The village is located in the humid continental climate zone, with hot summers and cold winters. The average annual temperature is approximately 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
