Tattnall County is a county located in the southeastern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2010 census, the population was 25,520. The county seat is Reidsville. The county was created on December 5, 1801, and named for Josiah Tattnall, Jr., a Revolutionary War hero and a member of the Georgia legislature.
Geography
Tattnall County is located in the southeastern part of Georgia, in the Coastal Plain region. It is bordered by Evans County to the north, Bulloch County to the east, Bryan County to the south, and Long County to the west. The county has a total area of 545 square miles, of which 541 square miles is land and 4.2 square miles (0.8%) is water.
The county is located in the Altamaha River basin, and is drained by the Altamaha River and its tributaries, including the Ohoopee River. The average household size was 2.56 and the average family size was 3.03.
