Pegram Summary

Pegram is a small town located in Cheatham County, Tennessee. It is situated along the banks of the Cumberland River, approximately 25 miles northwest of Nashville. The town was founded in 1820 and named after William Pegram, a Revolutionary War veteran. The population of Pegram was 1,845 as of the 2010 census.

Pegram is located at 36°14'25"N 87°2'25"W (36.240278, -87.040278). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.1 km2), all land.
The town is situated along the banks of the Cumberland River, which is a major tributary of the Ohio River. The river provides a variety of recreational activities, including fishing, boating, and swimming.

Economy

Pegram is a small, rural town with a limited economy. The town is home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, and a few restaurants. The town also has a few manufacturing plants, including a furniture factory and a plastics factory.
The town is also home to a few farms, which produce a variety of crops, including corn, soybeans, and hay. The town also has a few small wineries, which produce a variety of wines.

Demographics

As of the 2010 census, there were 1,845 people, 745 households, and 486 families residing in the town. The population density was 1,541.7 people per square mile (595.2/km2).
