Welch Summary

Welch is a small town located in Craig County, Oklahoma. It is situated in the northeastern part of the state, about 25 miles south of the Kansas border. The town was founded in 1891 and named after the Welch family, who were among the first settlers in the area. The population of Welch was 1,093 at the time of the 2000 census.

Geography

Welch is located at 36°45'25" North, 95°14'45" West (36.756944, -95.245833). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.1 km2), all of it land.

Economy

The economy of Welch is largely based on agriculture. The town is home to several farms, as well as a few small businesses. The town also has a few restaurants and convenience stores.
