Pleasant View Summary
Pleasant View is a city located in Weber County, Utah, United States. It is part of the Ogden-Clearfield, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 8,912 at the 2010 census, an increase over the 2000 figure of 6,945.
History
Pleasant View was first settled in 1859 by a group of Mormon pioneers led by William Fielding. The town was originally known as North Ogden, but was later renamed Pleasant View in 1877. The name was chosen to reflect the pleasant view of the Wasatch Mountains from the town.
In the early 1900s, Pleasant View was a farming community, with many of the residents working in the nearby Ogden and Brigham City areas. The town was incorporated in 1935.

Pleasant View is home to several businesses, including a Walmart Supercenter, a Lowe's Home Improvement store, and a variety of restaurants and other retail stores. The city is also home to several industrial and manufacturing companies, including a large concrete plant and a metal fabrication plant.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there were 6,945 people, 2,521 households, and 2,039 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,619.2 people per square mile (625.2/km2). There were 2,619 housing units at an average density of 609.3 per square mile (235.2/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 94.2% White, 0.3% African American, 0.4% Native American, 0.7% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 2.3% from other races, and 2.0% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.7% of the population.
There were 2,521 households, out of which 41.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.2% were married couples living together, 8.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.2% were non-families. 16.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 5.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.76 and the average family size was 3.09.
In the city, the population was spread out, with 29.2% under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 29.2% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 9.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females, there were 97.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.2 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $54,917, and the median income for a family was $59,917. Males had a median income of $41,917 versus $27,917 for females. The per capita income for the city was $21,917. About 3.2% of families and 4.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 5.2% of those under age 18 and 4.2% of those age 65 or over.
