Genola Summary

Genola is a small town located in Utah County, Utah, United States. It is situated in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains, about 25 miles south of Salt Lake City. The town has a total area of 0.9 square miles, all of which is land. The elevation of Genola is 4,890 feet above sea level.

History

Genola was founded in 1877 by a group of Mormon settlers. The town was named after the Genola family, who were among the first settlers. The Genola family had emigrated from Italy in the late 1800s and settled in the area.
The town was incorporated in 1891 and has remained a small, rural community ever since. The population of Genola was 1,072 at the 2010 census.
