Hamlin Summary

Hamlin is a town located in Lincoln County, West Virginia, United States. The population was 1,845 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Lincoln County.

History

Hamlin was founded in 1871 by the West Virginia Central and Pittsburgh Railway. The town was named after Hannibal Hamlin, the Vice President of the United States under Abraham Lincoln. The town was incorporated in 1872.
