Franklin Summary

Franklin, Nebraska is a small city located in Franklin County, Nebraska. It is situated in the southeastern corner of the state, approximately 30 miles south of Omaha. The city has a population of approximately 1,500 people and is the county seat of Franklin County.

History

Franklin was founded in 1871 by a group of settlers from Franklin County, Ohio. The city was named after Benjamin Franklin, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. The city was incorporated in 1873 and was the first city in Franklin County.
