Stetsonville is a small village located in Taylor County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 545 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Wausau, Wisconsin Metropolitan Statistical Area.

History

Stetsonville was founded in 1876 by William Stetson, a lumberman from Maine. He purchased a large tract of land in the area and began to build a sawmill. The village was named after him. The sawmill was a success and the village grew rapidly. By the early 1900s, Stetsonville had become a thriving community with a population of over 1,000.
The village was home to a variety of businesses, including a hotel, a bank, a general store, a blacksmith shop, a livery stable, and a post office. The village also had a school, a church, and a library.
