Auburndale Summary

Auburndale is a village located in Wood County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,093 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Wisconsin Rapids-Marshfield, WI Metropolitan Statistical Area.

History

The area that is now Auburndale was first settled in the late 1840s by a group of German immigrants. The village was originally known as "New Berlin" and was later renamed "Auburndale" after the nearby town of Auburndale, Massachusetts. The village was officially incorporated in 1891.

Auburndale is located at 44°25'17" North, 89°51'45" West (44.4214, -89.8625). According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.1 km2), all of it land.
