Robinhood Summary

Robinhood is a small unincorporated community located in Rankin County, Mississippi. It is situated approximately 10 miles east of the city of Jackson, the state capital. The population of Robinhood was estimated to be around 1,000 people in 2000.

History

The area that is now Robinhood was first settled in the early 1800s by a group of settlers from North Carolina. The settlement was originally known as “Robinson’s Crossroads”, named after the first settler, William Robinson. The name was later changed to “Robinhood” in 1845.
The town was officially incorporated in 1848 and was home to a variety of businesses, including a general store, a blacksmith shop, a cotton gin, and a sawmill. The town also had a post office, a school, and a church.
