History
Tuckerman was founded in 1873 by the Tuckerman family, who had moved to the area from Tennessee. The city was named after the family's patriarch, William Tuckerman. The city was incorporated in 1876.
Tuckerman was a major center of activity during the Civil War. The city was the site of a major battle in 1863, when Union forces under General Frederick Steele defeated Confederate forces under General Sterling Price. The battle was a major victory for the Union, and it helped to secure the region for the Union.
Geography
Tuckerman is located at 35°45'25" North, 91°2'25" West (35.756944, -91.040278). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.2 square miles (5.7 km2), all land.

Tuckerman's economy is largely based on agriculture and manufacturing. The city is home to several large poultry processing plants, as well as a number of smaller businesses. The city also has a large retail sector, with several stores and restaurants.

There were 1,093 households, out of which 33.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.2% were married couples living together, 13.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.2% were non-families. 27.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 14.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.50 and the average family size was 3.02.
In the city, the population was spread out, with 25.7% under the age of 18, 8.7% from 18 to 24, 27.2% from 25 to 44, 21.7% from 45 to 64, and 16.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females, there were 91.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 86.2 males.
