Rison Summary
Rison is a city located in Cleveland County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 1,845 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pine Bluff, Arkansas Metropolitan Statistical Area.
History
Rison was founded in 1883 by the St. Louis, Iron Mountain and Southern Railway. The city was named after the railroad's president, William Rison. The city was incorporated in 1887.

Rison is home to several businesses, including a lumber mill, a feed mill, a cotton gin, and a sawmill. The city also has a number of retail stores, restaurants, and other services.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1,945 people, 745 households, and 517 families residing in the city. The population density was 876.3 people per square mile (338.3/km2). The average household size was 2.60 and the average family size was 3.17.
