History
Bath was founded in 1837 by William and Mary Ann Bath. The village was named after the Bath family. The first post office was established in 1837. The village was incorporated in 1872.
Geography
Bath is located at 39°51'25" North, 89°17'45" West (39.856944, -89.295833). According to the 2010 census, the village has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.3 km2), all land.
Economy
The economy of Bath is largely based on agriculture. The village is home to several farms, including the Bath Family Farm, which has been in operation since 1837. The village also has a few small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, and a restaurant.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,093 people, 431 households, and 305 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,179.3 people per square mile (455.7/km2). There were 463 housing units at an average density of 499.3 per square mile (192.6/km2).
