Oak Hill is located at 28°59'N 80°50'W (28.983, -80.834). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.2 square miles (5.7 km2), of which 2.1 square miles (5.4 km2) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.3 km2) (4.55%) is water.
The city is located on the Indian River Lagoon, which is part of the Intracoastal Waterway. The lagoon is a popular destination for fishing, boating, and other water activities. The city is also home to several parks, including the Oak Hill Riverfront Park, which offers a boat ramp, picnic areas, and a fishing pier.
History

There were 890 households, out of which 24.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.3% were married couples living together, 11.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.3% were non-families. 28.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 12.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.45 and the average family size was 2.98.
In the city, the population was spread out, with 22.2% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 25.2% from 25 to 44, 28.2% from 45 to 64, and 17.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females, there were 97.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.2 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $37,917, and the median income for a family was $45,000. Males had a median income of $31,250 versus $22,500 for females. The per capita income for the city was $19,945. About 8.2% of families and 11.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 15.2% of those under age 18 and 8.2% of those age 65 or over.
