History

Marysville was founded in 1819 by a group of settlers from Pennsylvania. The city was named after Mary, the wife of one of the original settlers, John Dill. The city was incorporated in 1834 and has since grown to become the county seat of Union County.
Marysville has a rich history of industry and manufacturing. In the late 19th century, the city was home to several factories, including a paper mill, a flour mill, and a sawmill. The city was also home to the Marysville Automobile Company, which produced cars from 1906 to 1910.

Geography

Marysville is located at 40°14'N 83°23'W (40.23, -83.38). The city is situated along the Scioto River, approximately 25 miles northwest of Columbus. The city has a total area of 8.7 square miles, all of which is land.

Economy

Marysville is home to several major employers, including Honda of America Manufacturing, Scotts Miracle-Gro, and Union County. Honda of America Manufacturing is the largest employer in the city, employing over 4,000 people. The company produces automobiles, motorcycles, and power equipment. Scotts Miracle-Gro is a leading producer of lawn and garden products, and employs over 1,000 people in the city. Union County is the county government, and employs over 500 people.
Marysville is also home to several small businesses, including restaurants, retail stores, and service providers. The city is home to several parks and recreational facilities, including the Marysville Community Park, the Marysville Golf Club, and the Marysville YMCA.
