Galena Summary

Galena, Ohio is a small village located in Delaware County, Ohio. It is situated on the banks of the Olentangy River, approximately 20 miles north of Columbus. The village was founded in 1812 and has a population of approximately 1,500 people.

History

Galena was founded in 1812 by a group of settlers from Pennsylvania. The settlers were attracted to the area due to its fertile soil and abundant natural resources. The village was named after the lead ore (galena) that was found in the area. The ore was used to make bullets and other items during the War of 1812.
