Cohocton Summary

Cohocton is a town located in Steuben County, New York, United States. The population was 2,845 at the 2010 census. The town is named after the Cohocton River, which flows through the town.

Geography

Cohocton is located in the western part of Steuben County, bordered by the towns of Wayland to the north, Dansville to the east, Prattsburgh to the south, and Avoca to the west. The Cohocton River flows through the town from north to south, and the Canacadea Creek flows through the western part of the town.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 36.2sqmi, of which 36.1sqmi is land and 0.1sqmi, or 0.22%, is water.

History
