Clyde Summary

Clyde is a small town located in Wayne County, New York, United States. It is situated on the south shore of Lake Ontario, approximately 25 miles east of Rochester. The town was founded in 1810 and is named after the Scottish town of Clyde. As of the 2010 census, the population of Clyde was 2,719.

Geography

Clyde is located at 43°14'N 77°10'W (43.23, -77.17). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 11.2 square miles, of which 10.9 square miles is land and 0.3 square miles (2.67%) is water.
The town is bordered by the towns of Galen to the north, Lyons to the east, Rose to the south, and Huron to the west. Clyde is located on the south shore of Lake Ontario, and is part of the Finger Lakes region.

Economy

Clyde is a small town with a limited economy. The town is home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, a pharmacy, and a few restaurants. The town also has a few small manufacturing companies, including a plastics manufacturer and a metal fabrication shop.
