Brewster, NY is a village located in Putnam County, New York, United States. The population was 2,390 at the 2010 census. It is part of the town of Southeast.

History

Brewster was first settled in 1760 by John Brewster, a Quaker from Rhode Island. The village was incorporated in 1849. The village was named after John Brewster, who was the first settler in the area.
