History

The area that is now Bloomfield was first settled around 1790. The town was formed in 1812 from the Town of Canandaigua. The first town meeting was held in 1813.

Bloomfield is located in the Finger Lakes region of New York. It is bordered by the towns of Canandaigua, East Bloomfield, Victor, and West Bloomfield.
The town is located on the northern edge of Canandaigua Lake. The town is located in the Finger Lakes National Forest.
