Mooreton Summary

Mooreton is a small city located in Richland County, North Dakota. It is situated on the banks of the Red River of the North, approximately 20 miles south of Wahpeton. The city has a population of approximately 500 people, and is part of the Wahpeton-Breckenridge Micropolitan Statistical Area.

History

Mooreton was founded in 1883 by a group of settlers from Wisconsin. The city was named after the Moore family, who were among the first settlers. The city was incorporated in 1887, and the first post office was established in 1888.
