History

Radom was founded in 1854 by German immigrants. The village was named after Radom, Poland, which was the hometown of many of the settlers. The first post office was established in 1856.

Radom is a small rural village with a population of 1,845. The village is home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, a restaurant, and a gas station. The village also has a post office and a bank.

As of the census of 2010, there were 1,845 people, 690 households, and 517 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,539.2 people per square mile (595.2/km2). There were 745 housing units at an average density of 621.7 per square mile (239.7/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 97.2% White, 0.3% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.2% from other races, and 1.9% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.2% of the population.
There were 690 households, out of which 33.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.3% were married couples living together, 9.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.3% were non-families. 24.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.67 and the average family size was 3.20.
In the village, the population was spread out, with 26.2% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 28.2% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 14.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females, there were 97.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.2 males.
