Geography
Belleair Beach is located at 27°54'25" North, 82°50'17" West (27.9069, -82.8381). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.8 km2), of which 0.6 square miles (1.6 km2) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km2) is water.
The town is situated on a barrier island between the Gulf of Mexico and the Intracoastal Waterway. The town is bordered by the cities of Clearwater Beach to the north and Indian Rocks Beach to the south.
History
Belleair Beach was first settled in the early 1900s by a group of fishermen and farmers. The town was incorporated in 1950 and has since grown to become a popular tourist destination.
The town was named after the Belleair Hotel, which was built in the early 1900s. The hotel was destroyed by a hurricane in 1921, but the name remained.

The racial makeup of the town was 97.2% White, 0.7% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.7% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 0.3% from other races, and 0.9% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.2% of the population.
There were 1,093 households, out of which 22.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.2% were married couples living together, 8.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.7% were non-families. 24.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.35 and the average family size was 2.76.
In the town, the population was spread out, with 19.2% under the age of 18, 5.2% from 18 to 24, 22.2% from 25 to 44, 32.2% from 45 to 64, and 21.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 47 years. For every 100 females, there were 97.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.2 males.
The median income for a household in the town was $60,938, and the median income for a family was $68,750. Males had a median income of $45,938 versus $32,500 for females.
