Paradise Valley is a town located in Maricopa County, Arizona, United States. It is a suburb of Phoenix and is located between the cities of Phoenix and Scottsdale. Geography

Paradise Valley is located in the Sonoran Desert, at an elevation of 1,500 feet (457 m). The town is bordered by Phoenix to the west and north, Scottsdale to the east, and the McDowell Mountains to the south. The town is located in the Salt River Valley, and is surrounded by several mountain ranges, including the McDowell Mountains, Camelback Mountain, Mummy Mountain, and Piestewa Peak.
The town has a total area of 15.5 square miles (40.1 km2), all of which is land. The town is located in the Phoenix metropolitan area, and is part of the Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Economy

Paradise Valley is home to many luxury resorts, golf courses, and upscale shopping. The town is also home to several corporate headquarters, including the headquarters of PetSmart, Inc. and the corporate headquarters of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The town is also home to several high-end restaurants, including the Paradise Valley Country Club, the Paradise Valley Grill, and the Paradise Valley Market.

Demographics

As of the 2010 census, there were 12,820 people, 5,717 households, and 3,717 families residing in the town. The population density was 830.2 people per square mile (319.9/km2). There were 6,845 housing units at an average density of 442.3 per square mile (170.7/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 94.2% White, 0.7% African American, 0.2% Native American, 2.5% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 0.7% from other races, and 1.7% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.2% of the population.
There were 5,717 households, out of which 24.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.2% were married couples living together, 7.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.2% were non-families. 28.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.22 and the average family size was 2.71.
In the town, the population was spread out, with 19.2% under the age of 18, 4.2% from 18 to 24, 22.2% from 25 to 44, 33.2% from 45 to 64, and 21.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 48 years. For every 100 females, there were 93.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.2 males.
The median income for a household in the town was $90,817, and the median income for a family was $111,917. Males had a median income of $77,856 versus $45,846 for females. The per capita income for the town was $62,945. About 2.7% of families and 4.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 4.2% of those under age 18 and 2.7% of those age 65 or over.
